General overview:
Working with a team of 4-5 people in the administration of an educational facility that specializes in electrical training and apprenticeship.
The Organization:
The NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center (NIETC) is one of the largest electrical apprenticeship training centers in the Northwest. The NIETC is a partnership between the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1929. Our facility is dedicated to educating registered Apprentices, Journey-Level Workers and other members of the NECA-IBEW partnership.
We are located on NE Airport Way, in Portland, OR and operate year round.
Main duties and responsibilities:
General clerical work such as filing, mailings, class registration, monthly progress reports, faxing VA forms/hourly reports to contractors, maintain apprentice files, transcript review, applications, rating reports, program information, other duties as assigned by supervision.
Point of contact on phones and at front office counter.
Possible backup to bookkeeper with proper experience (payroll, bank deposits, accounts receivable/payable, other duties as needed).
Hours:
Full time, 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday
Benefits and compensation:
Wages and benefits set by OPEIU Local 11 Contract (membership required)
Starting wages based on experience $26.76-$29.39/hour

Required experience and qualifications:
Knowledgeable of general office procedures
Proficient in Word Processing, spreadsheet, email, and database applications
Excellent in-person, phone, and email communication skills
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
Strong ability to work individually and as a team member
Preferred Qualifications:
Apprenticeship Experience
Human Resources Experience
Bookkeeping/accounting experience
College/University Degree
